Supercar Duel: Audi R8 Crashes Into Ferrari 599GTB

Not that it's entirely impossible, but two supercars getting into an accident on a public road is a rarity. This incident that involved an Audi R8 rear-ending a Ferrari 599GTB occurred on May 25th in Fu Zhou, China. According to reports, the driver of the Ferrari slammed onto his brakes after a taxi in front of him came to a sudden halt in order to pick up a passenger. As is common in these type of accidents, the Audi R8 suffered much more damage than the Ferrari 599 GTB.

Pininfarina 'Golden Ferrari' Revives Fantuzzi's 1965 Ferrari 250 GT NART Spyder

The retro-styled Ferrari you see pictured above was snapped by a reader over from our Dutch friends at Autoblog.nl. There's no official information on the Pininfarina-designed Prancing Horse model other than it's named 'The Golden Ferrari'. Though it looks that it could be based on the Ferrari 599 GTB, we can't be sure about its underpinnings. However, what we can tell you is that it's styling revives the 1965 Ferrari 250GT NART Spyder that was designed and built by Modena coachbuilder Fantuzi for Ferrari's North American importer, Luigi Chinetti.

The Golden Ferrari Pininfarina - Fantuzzi - CarscoopThis car, that was based on the Ferrari 250 GTE was shown for the first time to the public at the 1965 San Francisco Sports Car show and it later appeared at the New York and Miami Auto motorshows.

A golden version of the 250GT NART Spyder was featured in a short film called "Toby Dammit" that we've never heard before but apparently inspired Pininfarina in the creation of this mysterious Ferrari.

Fast and Furious Style Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano Hamann

Sure it looks menacing enough to scare the hell out of anyone catching a glimpse of it from their rear-view mirror - and you may call us boring, but in our book's, there's something wrong about a modified Ferrari with aerodynamic knickknacks and a custom paint finish that could easily land a role in the next sequel of the Fast and Furious. More photos of the matte-black, Hamann-prepped 599 GTB Fiorano that was spotted in London right after the jump.

Ferrari's Already Sold Out SA Aperta Roadster Stops by Paris Show

The 'greener' California HELE wasn't the only new car on display at Ferrari's Paris Show stand. The 670-horsepower SA Aperta, which we reported on last week, also made its debut. All 80 examples of the limited edition, open-top 599s have been spoken for well before the car made its way to Paris.

Co-designed with Ferrari Centro Stile to celebrate 80 years of Italian design firm Pininfarina, the car was built partly as homage to Sergio and Andrea Pininfarina, the son and grandson respectively of company founder Battista Farina (latter Battista Pininfarina).

Like the Bugatti Veyron roadster, the SA Aperta features an emergency soft top [read: umbrella] and the same structural rigidity of the hardtop without adding any additional weight

Pricing is irrelevant as you can't buy one, at least not new. There is, however, an online configurator, which doesn't make any sense but anyways...

Ferrari Launches Online Configurator for SA Aperta even though it's Sold Out...

Ferrari may have sold all 80 examples of its awkwardly named SA Aperta before the roadster's world premiere at the Paris International Motor Show on September 30, but that hasn't deterred the company from launching an online configurator for the rest of the world to see.

Unfortunately, the configurator is preset, meaning you're only allowed to check out the five available configurations and can't fool around with paint schemes or interior decors, so unless you're a photoshop wizard, there goes your dream of creating a lime-green colored SA Aperta with pink seats.
